In December 2021, Sasol took a very important step towards its objective of increasing the technical and vocational training of young people.
As part of a partnership with the Alberto Cassimo Professional Training and Labor Studies Institute (IFPELAC), Sasol attended in Inhassoro, the training closing ceremony of 79 young people. Of this group, 37 were trained in Electricity and Industrial Maintenance, 28 in Mechanics and Industrial Maintenance and 14 in Welding.
This project, funded by Sasol since in 2015, has graduated 419 young people to date, as part of a 460 target, to be reached this year. The trainees are from the districts of Inhassoro, Govuro, Mabote, Vilankulo and Massinga, all from Inhambane province.
The training courses were chosen by the communities themselves, considering the various employment and self-employment opportunities emerging in the industrial and sector in Inhambane.
These young people are part of the programmes of the Inhassoro Vocational Training Centre, which currently operates in provisional facilities, while construction work on the definitive infrastructures is underway.
At the beginning of December, the Secretary of State in Inhambane Province, Ludmila Maguni, visited the construction works of the Inhassoro Training Centre, also funded by Sasol, and expressed her satisfaction for the progress.
