Millennium bim participated in the scientific conferences of Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) and the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP Maputo) during September, culminating in the award of prizes to the projects ranked in the top three places at each institution. The selection of winners was conducted by academic juries appointed by the respective faculties.
For Rui Pedro, chairman of the Executive Committee of Millennium bim, quoted in a statement from the bank, recognising the quality of work produced at universities is also a way of encouraging research and the sharing of knowledge.
“Science advances when there is space, rigour, and recognition. By supporting these prizes, we want to value projects that are the result of study, method, and the capacity to question. Merit deserves to be recognised, especially when it emerges from our universities and helps generate knowledge about Mozambican reality,” said Rui Pedro.
The 6th Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Sciences at Eduardo Mondlane University, held on 15 and 16 September, brought together more than 400 postgraduate students, lecturers, researchers, professionals, and institutional partners. The papers presented covered the fields of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, and Information and Communication Technologies.
At the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Pedagogical University of Maputo, the Scientific Conference took place from 21 to 24 September, gathering students, lecturers, researchers, institutional partners, and national and international guests. The programme was dedicated to research, innovation, and the presentation of work related to Education, Psychology, and human and social development.
Participation in both events allowed Millennium bim to direct its support towards the concrete recognition of academic work, while leaving the evaluation and classification of projects under the exclusive responsibility of the universities and their respective juries.
