The Chinese company Haiyu Mozambique Mining has invested 4.6 million meticals for social responsibility in Angoche, Nampula province.

According to information released by Integrity-Mozambique this Tuesday (24), the amount will be used to build and equip a co-operative that will specifically benefit the localities of Cerema and Sangane, in the Angoche district.

This construction is part of its social responsibility and will be accompanied by the allocation of fish conservation equipment, especially freezers, scales, fishing nets and agricultural inputs.

During the handover ceremony, the administrator of Angoche, Wiliamo Tuzine, encouraged Haiyu Mining to pursue more social responsibility actions, while encouraging the beneficiaries to make rational use of the equipment in order to make the most of the investment.

“We want to take this opportunity to urge Haiyu Mining and other companies to continue investing in the development of Angoche. Furthermore, the beneficiaries of this investment must make it count by making rational use of the equipment they have received”

In conclusion, the president of the Angoche Municipal Council, Dalila Ussene, challenged the company to be increasingly transparent and inclusive.
