The University of Rovuma (UniRovuma) recently held its 5th graduation ceremony, introducing 200 professionals to the market, including bachelor’s and master’s degree holders, with delegations from Lichinga, Montepuez, Nacala, and Nampula. The event took place in Nampula and was attended by members of the Provincial Government, institutional leaders, students, and partners.
According to a press release accessed by DE, the Commercial and Investment Bank (BCI) recognized the top graduates during the ceremony, acknowledging the academic merit and dedication of the students. This gesture reinforces the bank’s commitment to encouraging young talent and promoting the value of knowledge as a driver of development.
UniRovuma, a public university with multiple campuses based in Nampula, was established from the division of the Nampula, Niassa, and Cabo Delgado campuses of the former Pedagogical University, as part of the Mozambican higher education reform carried out in 2019. For the institution, the graduation ceremony represents a milestone of great importance, not only for the graduates and their families but also for the country, which gains new qualified professionals to serve society. This year, once again, the university honored the top students of 2025 with academic recognition awards, strengthening the connection between the academic, institutional, and business sectors.
Helga Nunes, BCI’s Regional Commercial Director, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment as a strategic partner in higher education. She emphasized that this initiative promotes academic excellence, dedication, and the development of professionals capable of driving Mozambique’s economic and social development. By rewarding merit, BCI “reaffirms its mission to support initiatives that promote knowledge, strengthen skills, and contribute to the positive transformation of Mozambican society.”
