Mozambique is participating since Monday, July 18, in the International Congress on protected areas that is being held until Saturday in Kigali, capital of Rwanda.
At the event, which brings together countries in the region, Mozambique is represented by the Director-General of the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC), Celmira da Silva, who leads a delegation with an active role in the activities of the SADC Pavilion.
The Mozambican delegation may be part of some thematic panels of the Congress with the aim of sharing and promoting experiences on terrestrial and marine conservation, on protected areas and conservation, as well as broadening the range of partnerships in various areas of conservation.
According to a note from ANAC, on the sidelines of the event, the Mozambican delegation will exchange experiences with participants in the field of conservation, with emphasis on monitoring and its impact on reducing poaching, law enforcement – cases tried and convicted – the gains of the Transfrontier Conservation Area: Economic Development and Regional Integration and on the Transfrontier Marine Conservation Areas Network.
