Mozambique Invests in Technology to Protect Elephants

The Government is betting on the use of technology, equipping the different conservation areas and training forest and wildlife rangers in order to strengthen the protection of elephants and other animal species.

The information was provided by Celmira da Silva, director-general of the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC), during the sub-regional meeting of the directors committee of the MIKE – Monitoring the Illegal Killing of Elephants Programme.

The meeting was held in preparation for the Conference of the Parties – COP19 of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna (CITES), which will take place in Panama, between 14 and 25 November.
