The Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development is investing about 80 million meticals in the restructuring of the Marine Biology Station, located in Inhaca Island, in Maputo City.
The information was shared, this Wednesday (31), during a visit made by the rector of Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), Manuel Guilherme, to the station, and in which he advanced that the action aims at making the place more welcoming and available for the students who do their researches.
“The investment will cover the rehabilitation of four areas, namely the scientific research area, the cafeteria, the dormitories and the construction of a new laboratory,” he explained.
Built between 1948 and 1950, the Marine Biology Station is one of the research departments of the Eduardo Mondlane University’s Faculty of Science.
Inhaca is an island located at the entrance of Maputo bay, in southern Mozambique.
