Terrorism is “weakened” and the perpetrators are confined to Cabo Delgado. This statement was made by Alex Kagame, Commander of the Rwandan forces stationed in Mocimboa da Praia and Palma, in the northern part of Cabo Delgado.
According to Alex Kagame, the intensification of combat actions over the next few days could result in the annihilation of the few remaining pockets of terrorists in Cabo Delgado.
“The enemy is in Katupa and on the banks of the Messalo River. Their movement is very limited. If we intensify operations in that area of Katupa, we will eliminate the enemy and in the next few days we will carry out a joint operation.”
With the gradual return of security, around 70,000 victims of terrorism have already returned to their areas of origin.
