Bill Gates Is Calling on Elon Musk to Visit Mozambique to See the Consequences of USAID Cuts

Bill Gates invited Elon Musk to visit the hospital in Mozambique that was targeted by cuts: “I would love for him to go there and meet the children who have been infected with HIV because he cut the money.

These are harsh words from Bill Gates against Elon Musk, accusing him of being responsible for the deaths of children in the world’s poorest countries due to cuts made to the US international aid agency, USAID.

‘The image of the richest man in the world killing the poorest children in the world is not a pretty one,’ the Microsoft co-founder told the Financial Times.

The now philanthropist even invited the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX to visit the hospital in Mozambique that was targeted by USAID cuts: ‘I would love for him to go there and meet the children who have been infected with HIV because he cut the money.’ The hospital in Gaza province was initially confused with Palestine in the Middle East.

Elon Musk shut down USAID in February: ‘It’s time to die.’ This was just another decision by Musk at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) after being appointed to the position by Donald Trump.

Now, Gates says the decision has left food and medicine to rot in warehouses and could lead to the resurgence of diseases such as HIV, polio and measles.

Musk has already called USAID a ‘criminal organisation,’ according to Gates, who believes that the businessman does not understand how the agency works.

The history between the two goes back a long way. In 2012, Musk joined the Giving Pledge launched by Bill and Melinda Gates, but later the businessman said that philanthropy is ‘bullshit.’

Later, in 2022, Elon Musk was furious when Bill Gates sold shares in Tesla, calling him a hypocrite for trying to make a quick buck and posting a photo of Gates on social media in a mocking tone.

This week, Bill Gates announced plans to spend almost his entire fortune over the next 20 years to help combat health, education and development issues around the world. That’s $200 billion to spend by 2045, courtesy of the once richest person in the world.

Bill Gates is not stopping there; he wants to eradicate polio and cure HIV.

His children will inherit less than 1% of his fortune, and he advocates strong inheritance taxes to prevent ‘dynastic wealth’ and more ‘progressive taxes’.

‘People will say many things about me, but I am determined that “died rich” will not be one of them. There are many urgent problems to solve,’ said Bill Gates.
