The Algerian government is to make around 30 million dollars available for the construction of a multi-purpose pavilion in the country. This was revealed by the head of state, Filipe Nyusi, during a press conference marking the end of his working visit to the country.
“At the meeting with the Algerian ruler, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, we expressed our concern about the construction of a multi-purpose arena in the country and our request was immediately accepted, with funding of 30 million dollars being put forward,” he explained.
According to the statesman, the infrastructure will accommodate all athletes, which will help develop national sport. “It’s going to be a great gain. In the next few days, we’re going to go ahead with the study of the project, which we’ll then submit for approval and implementation.”
Nyusi said that Algeria had expressed its willingness to host training programmes for Mozambican teams in different sports.
The President of the Republic began a four-day working visit to Algeria on Wednesday (28), at the invitation of his counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, where he also took part in the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (FPEG/GECF).
