The government, through the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, has guaranteed that it will soon disburse a total of 75 million meticals to finance 50 income generation projects in Zambézia province, central Mozambique.
According to the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Oswaldo Petersburgo, the money will be made available under the ‘Agora Emprega’ programme, stressing that the main aim is to exclusively support initiatives that focus on developing the districts that make up that part of the country.
“A total of 1123 youth projects were submitted, but only 50 qualified and were able to access funding through “Agora Emprega”. The beneficiaries were satisfied and we’re going to start with the planned activities,’ he explained.
He clarified that the programme is aligned with high standards of transparency, warning that any attempt at corruption will not be tolerated.

Agora Emprega is a business plan competition that aims to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises grow and create sustainable job opportunities for young Mozambicans.
Women and men between the ages of 18 and 35, of Mozambican nationality and residing in Mozambique during the implementation of the competition, can apply.
