E-Visa: More Than 56,000 People Have Benefited From the Electronic Visa Since 2022

The E-Visa, launched in December 2022 by Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi, has already benefited more than 56,000 people from 29 countries. According to information released by the newspaper Noticias, the majority of applications were for business and tourism visas.

According to the publication on Friday 28 June, the electronic visa is the 13th requirement of the Package of Economic Acceleration Measures (EAP), the aim of which is to facilitate the entry of foreign visitors and investors, promoting greater competitiveness of the country as a tourist destination and stimulating economic growth.

“Countries like India, Pakistan and Brazil lead the list of beneficiaries of the electronic visa, while Portugal, China and the United States of America (USA) are among those benefiting from visa exemption for visits to Mozambique,” he explained.

According to the information provided, the government plans to expand the list of countries with visa exemptions, with the aim of attracting new segments of tourists and improving the quality of the tourist experience in the country. “This initiative is part of efforts to facilitate the mobility of visitors interested in exploring Mozambique for leisure and business purposes.”

So far, visitors from Canada, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, the USA, Russia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Ireland, Korea, Ivory Coast, Finland, Indonesia, Singapore, Ghana, Senegal, Germany, France, Italy, China, Portugal and Ukraine have been granted visa-free travel to Mozambique.
