Angola Airlines (TAAG) is to add a new frequency to the link between Luanda (Angola) and Lisbon (Portugal) which, as of Tuesday, will have 14 flights per week, the airline said today.
The increased frequency aims to “add more mobility options” for passengers and customers and “in view of growing market demand,” TAAG said in a statement.
As of Tuesday, TAAG will provide two flights per day, departing Luanda at 12.40pm (daytime departure) and 11.45pm (nighttime departure).
“Portugal is one of the preferred destinations and the gateway to Europe for several passengers, including tourists, families and businesspeople from Angola, Africa and South America. In parallel, Angola is positioned as an important hub to receive and redirect traffic from Portugal to the various TAAG destinations in the southern hemisphere,” the company said.
According to the airline, “in 2023, and taking the full months of January and February as a reference, 39,306 passengers were carried on the Luanda – Lisbon – Luanda route.
This figure represents more than double the 18,798 passengers carried in the same period last year.
