The National Electoral Commission (CNE) foresees constraints in the voter registration process in Cabo Delgado, due to the suspension of the hiring of 21 vehicles valued at 88 million meticais.
The President of CNE, Carlos Matsinhe, said that until then the process was running normally because at the time of the suspension the materials had already been transported to the voter registration posts.
“We will see with the province itself and with the Technical Secretariat of the Electoral Administration how we will find solutions with the Government,” he said, cited by Noticias.
The contract for the lease of 21 vehicles for 88 million meticais was suspended on 5 May by the National Directorate of State Property of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as it considered the value to be too high.
