The Mozambican Association of Real Estate Agents (AMCI) – a legally constituted organisation dedicated to defending, organising and promoting the rights and dignity of professionals in the real estate sector – is concerned about what it calls “arbitrariness” in the sector, the newspaper Noticias reported on Monday, July 15 .
The newspaper explains that the association says it has noted with concern the “proliferation of people who exercise their activity in an arbitrary manner, getting involved in illicit schemes, jeopardising the good name of the profession”.
On the other hand, it speaks of frequent complaints from informal and formal brokers of “fraud on the part of property owners”.
In this context, AMCI has called a meeting with formal and informal agents for Monday afternoon to present a strategic plan for organising and enforcing sector legislation.
