Among the various trends in the real estate and luxury markets around the world, disclosed in the analysis, the decision of most people to move house in recent months stands out.
Sales of luxury real estate and real estate with outdoor spaces are growing worldwide. A trend that has so far recorded no slowdown, with investors in luxury homes leading the market. These conclusions come from the Global Luxury Landscape 2021 report, developed by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, sent to Notícias ao Minuto.
Among the various trends in real estate and luxury markets around the world, disclosed in the analysis, it highlights the decision of most people to move house in recent months, especially to new areas where they are favouring green spaces. According to the same document, it was also found that many homeowners have chosen to spend more time in their secondary residences thanks to the flexibility provided by telecommuting.
Already in Portugal, interest in housing outside cities has also been growing. “People have started to understand the importance of having a safe outdoor space, where they can run, walk and enjoy family time with safety and distance”, says César Santos, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices | Atlantic Portugal.
According to the same study, there has also been a rise in the number of buyers interested in areas such as the Algarve and Comporta not only for holidays, but also to acquire a permanent home.
“The Algarve is also being ‘invaded’ by international buyers, including those from the United States, who are trying to take advantage of the Golden Visa programme ahead of the changes coming later this year,” said Michael Vincent, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices | Portugal Property.
In parallel, a return to metropolitan areas is also taking place, as luxury homebuyers return to the cities attracted by their cultural environment that was lost during the pandemic.
Another trend was the resale of luxury goods, adopted by the ‘millennials’, as this generation is particularly interested in decreasing their ecological footprint.
