Mozambique’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Olegário dos Anjos Banze, said last week that Mozambique wants to expand agricultural trade with China.
He was speaking during a meeting with China’s Permanent Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Guang Defu, to discuss potential exchanges of agricultural technology.
Olegário dos Anjos Banze thanked China for creating a Sino-Mozambican demonstration center for agricultural technology in the capital, Maputo, to help improve agricultural production techniques.
The center has improved the living conditions of Mozambicans by encouraging them to learn more agricultural techniques, the deputy minister said in a statement from China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
According to the statement, released last week, Guang Defu invited Mozambique to promote products such as cashew nuts, sisal and beans at the China International Import Exhibition, to be held in November.
