This Wednesday, 5 June, Mozambique is taking part in the Korea-Africa Business Forum, which is being held on the sidelines of the summit in Seoul, South Korea.
Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi said that at the event the country would present its potential and explore new investment opportunities in various existing development areas.
In his speech, the statesman announced that Mozambique had received an invitation from South Korea to take part in one of the sessions of the United Nations Security Council during that Asian country’s monthly rotating presidency.
“We received the invitation to take part in one of the sessions, where we intend to discuss and give our contribution on global issues. In the meetings we had with the other leaders, it became clear what role we play in capitalising on development,’ he added.

Filipe Nysui revealed on Tuesday 4 June that South Korea will provide a package of 63.2 billion meticals (one billion dollars) to finance various development projects in Mozambique.
In addition to this amount, South Korea will also invest 884.8 billion meticals (14 billion dollars) so that Korean companies can develop ventures on the African continent.
He also said that Korea would make another 632 billion meticals (ten billion dollars) available to support African countries, including Mozambique, until 2030, explaining that the country must apply for this funding by presenting viable projects that prioritise development.
