Between March of last year (2022) and the end of the first quarter of 2023, Mozambique exported more than 100 thousand tons of eucalyptus poles and derivatives to the European market.
The figure represents the largest consignment handled since national independence in 1975, with Manica province contributing with more than 85% of the total export volume.
The governor of Manica, Francisca Tomás, said this Thursday, without giving exact figures, that the European market continues to be the main destination for eucalyptus and its derivatives.
Governor Tomás was speaking at a technical forestry meeting, attended by technicians from the provinces of Zambézia, Tete, and Sofala and Niassa.
