The Mozambican head of state, Filipe Nyusi, begins today, Tuesday, November 15, a four-day working visit to Finland, with the fight against terrorism and climate change on the agenda, the presidency said in a statement.
Filipe Nyusi’s visit takes place at the invitation of the Finnish head of state, Sauli Niinistö, with whom he is scheduled to meet in Helsinki to discuss the political and economic scenario of the two countries and the world, with emphasis on the energy and economic crisis.
“President Nyusi and his Finnish counterpart will also address the implementation of the Demilitarization, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) process, the fight against terrorism and the humanitarian assistance provided to displaced people in Cabo Delgado province, as well as strengthening Mozambique’s resilience to deal with the consequences of climate change,” the presidency note indicates.
The Mozambican head of state will visit economic enterprises and participate in a business seminar, an event whose main objective is to explore “business opportunities and attract investments.
Finland is, since 2003, among the traditional donors of the State Budget (OE) of Mozambique, contributing annually nine million euros to the Government’s common fund, supporting the development of education in Mozambique, according to official data from the Finnish embassy in Maputo.
