Mozambican Business Delegation Explores Cooperation Opportunities With Qatari Counterparts

The First Vice-President of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari, reiterated the Chamber’s support for local industry and its commitment to promoting the sector during the meetings it organises with foreign trade delegations, a statement made during a visit to the Qatar Polymer Factory in the Industrial Zone, accompanied by a trade delegation from the Mozambican President.

The delegation took part in the inauguration of the factory’s second phase, received a presentation on production processes and held discussions on ways to strengthen co-operation between the factory and Mozambican companies.

The visit was also attended by the Chamber of Commerce’s board member, Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed, and the factory’s CEO, Nasser bin Mubarak Al Dolaimi.

Bin Twar also highlighted the significant development of Qatari industry, mentioning the establishment of numerous key investments in the sector to meet the growing needs of the local market and the interest in expanding exports abroad.

And he emphasised that the Chamber actively supports the establishment of new investments and partnerships between Qatari factories and foreign investors, stressing that such initiatives will further strengthen the development of local products and boost private sector exports.

For his part, Nasser bin Mubarak Al Dolaimi, CEO of Qatar Polymer, expressed his gratitude to the chamber for its support for Qatari industry, mentioning that the factory regularly participates in the ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition, organised by the chamber to promote the national industrial sector.

Al Dolaimi also mentioned that discussions had been held with the Mozambican delegation about co-operation and entering the Mozambican market, as part of the factory’s plans to expand into foreign markets.

He noted that the plant currently exports to 29 countries and plans to enter the South American and African markets.

Earlier, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce hosted a delegation from Mozambique representing the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA).

The delegation was led by Amílcar Paia Tivane, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, with the participation of the president of the CTA, Agostinho Vuma.
