The Ministry of Industry and Trade, through the Agency for Promotion of Investment and Exports (APIEX), is organising the 57th edition of Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM) 2022, which will take place between 29 August and 4 September 2022, in Maputo province.
FACIM is an annual and multi-sectorial trade fair that brings together, in a single space, all economic sectors at national and international level. The fair’s general aim is to expose the potential for production and exports in the country and to promote business and investment opportunities in various national and foreign segments.
According to a statement released, this edition will take place in the traditional model (in person), allowing the participation of the national and foreign business fabric at all levels, taking into consideration the gradual reopening of the national and world economy, given the situation of the covid-19 pandemic, with the hybrid model (in person and virtual) prevailing for thematic seminars.
“The Fair will provide a platform for exchange and cooperation with a range of activities including exhibitions, seminars, promotion sessions and contact fellowships,” the document advanced.
According to the director general of APIEX, Gil Bires, this edition will bring innovative components not only in terms of the format of the event (thematic pavilions), but also in terms of business facilitation, with emphasis on assistance services for investors, including registration of trademarks and patents, simplified licensing, quality certification, registration of investment project proposals, and access to markets, amongst others.
For this edition of FACIM 2022, some innovations stand out, among which: the Financial Services and Insurance Exhibition Pavilion (banking, credit, microcredit and insurance institutions), the Exporters Pavilion and the Employment, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation Fair, among other youth initiatives.
