The Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, has made it known that Mozambique wants to take advantage of Kazakhstan’s experience in the exploration and management of strategic mineral resources and technological innovation to boost the development of these areas in the country.
This was stated on Wednesday 16 October in Maputo, during the accreditation ceremony for Kazakhstan’s first ambassador, Yerkin Akhinzhanov, who stressed that the country’s location also brings the possibility of the Mozambican nation increasing trade transactions.
‘We hope to expand and improve co-operation in all areas, political, social and economic. Relations should translate into the well-being of the peoples of both countries,’ he said, quoted by Radio Moçambique.
Recently, in a meeting with the Mozambican Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, Yerkin Akhinzhanov said that his country had developed satisfactorily in recent years, highlighting the creation of the Astana International Financial Centre and progress in the area of renewable energies.
‘We explored opportunities for co-operation in the education sector and expressed shared interest in establishing direct links between universities in both countries to promote scientific and educational exchange,’ the diplomat stressed.
The parties want to pave the way for new joint projects and initiatives, as they share similar approaches to dealing with international issues, providing a strong basis for future collaboration.
