As the energy transition continues to evolve, it is crucial to exploit the reserves of critical minerals and secure their supply chains. In this graphic we can get a visual context of the main countries in terms of reserves, production and processing of minerals vital to the energy transition.
The analysis uses data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) on four minerals: lithium, cobalt, rare earths and natural graphite, in the latter of which Mozambique appears in the top 3 of the world’s largest reserves.
