Altona Rare Earths Announces ‘Encouraging’ Fluorspar Exploration Results at Monte Muambe

Altona Rare Earths – a natural resources exploration and development company focused on essential raw materials on the African continent – announced this Monday, 10 February, encouraging results from tests carried out at its Monte Muambe Fluorite Zone, located in north-western Mozambique.

According to the mining company’s announcement, the ore samples revealed an average content of 88.03% CaF2 (calcium fluoride), a result that exceeds the usual metallurgical grade standards. This data reinforces the project’s potential and places the company in a strategic position for the development of fluorspar exploration in the region.

Based on these advances, Altona Rare Earths is intensifying metallurgical studies to optimise the mineral’s extraction and processing processes. The company has also been establishing partnerships with organisations in the mining processing sector, with the aim of speeding up production and guaranteeing an efficient and profitable operation. This approach could significantly improve its positioning in the global market, increasing the confidence of investors and other interested parties.

Listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker ‘REE’, the company has a number of mineral exploration projects underway, particularly copper, fluorspar and rare earths

The Monte Muambe project, in Mozambique, is one of its main bets and is currently in the pre-feasibility study phase for the extraction of rare earths, a crucial sector for technological and industrial development at a global level.

The importance of the Monte Muambe project comes in the context of growing global demand for rare earth elements, which are essential for the high-tech industry, including electronics, wind turbines and batteries for electric vehicles. With the advances in studies and the consolidation of strategic partnerships, Altona Rare Earths intends to position itself as one of the main players in the production of these essential minerals, contributing to the economic development of the country and the African mining industry.
