Algeria Wants to Invest in Mozambique’s Energy and Mining Sectors

Algeria expressed this Thursday (4) its willingness to cooperate with Mozambique in various economic sectors, with a particular focus on energy, mining, and natural gas, as part of the official visit of President Daniel Chapo to Algiers.

“We are very pleased to see the President of Mozambique here in Algeria to strengthen this relationship, especially the economic one. We are available and ready to contribute in Mozambique to several high-value projects in the fields of energy, mining, renewable energies, and natural gas development,” stated Mohamed Arkab, Algeria’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, during the reception of the Mozambican delegation.

The minister stressed that strengthening bilateral cooperation goes beyond the energy sector, also covering other areas of mutual interest, within the framework of supporting Mozambique’s economic development.

Meanwhile, the Presidency of the Republic of Mozambique reported that the four-day working visit by the head of state aims to consolidate bilateral ties and explore new strategic partnerships.

Daniel Chapo is also participating in the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair, organized by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), which runs until September 10 in the Algerian capital. The event seeks to boost trade and investment in Africa, serving as a platform to strengthen relations between the continent’s countries. According to the Presidency, during his address, Daniel Chapo is expected to reaffirm Mozambique’s commitment to continental economic integration and the strengthening of strategic partnerships in trade and investment.
