The Minister of Transport and Communications challenges managers of the Port of Maputo to expand their territories and geographical markets, through technological innovation and creativity in service delivery.
Mateus Magala believes that in this way, the port of Maputo will increase the number of countries in the interland that use the infrastructure for transshipment of their goods.
It is also our expectation to see the Maputo Port Development Company (MPDC) serving other interland countries looking for opportunities to diversify their cargoes, extending its economic growth potential to neighbouring countries such as Eswatini, Zimbabwe and Zambia. We believe that the new avenues of digital integration could bring pathways for growth in the logistics sector,” he said.
The Minister of Transport and Communications was speaking on Friday at the Gala celebrating 20 years of the MPDC, Maputo Port Development Company, a public-private company responsible for managing the wharf.
