On Thursday 24 August, the railway-port company Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM) announced the launch of a subsidiary dedicated to logistics especially geared towards the oil and gas business. The official launch of CFM Logistics and its corporate brand was led by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Max Tonela.
According to the newspaper Notícias, the new company will be mainly involved in transport, maritime and rail services, logistics and warehousing in the oil and gas industry.
The creation of the entity is in fulfilment of the government’s strategic guidelines, taking into account the discovery of natural gas reserves in the Rovuma Basin and the ongoing exploration of the Pande-Temane deposits in Inhambane province.
