Exporting heavy sands from Chibuto, in Gaza province, to the international market is a costly process for the company Dingsheng Minerals due to the lack of a port.
To export its production, the company uses the nearest port, Maputo, and has to bear the logistics costs, as well as the distance to travel.
The Minister of Industry and Trade, Silvino Moreno, visited the company and encouraged it to quickly find innovative solutions.
He suggested that the company build its own exclusive structure to transport its production, assuring that the government will support its construction.
In the government’s view, quoted by Notícias, the infrastructure could strengthen the company’s position on the international market.
On the other hand, Moreno encouraged the company to start processing its raw materials internally, instead of exporting them raw, in the hope that this would promote local employment.
