World Bank Announces $100m for Cabo Delgado Reconstruction

The World Bank has announced in Pemba, Cabo Delgado province, the release of an additional fund of US$100 million for the Cabo Delgado reconstruction programme.

The figures were provided by a team from the bank during a courtesy meeting with Valige Tauabo, Governor of Cabo Delgado.

According to Jornal Notícias, the World Bank team assured that the amount may be available this semester.

Meanwhile, Tauabo complained that the Provincial Executive Council (CEP) was being excluded from the process of implementing the post-terrorist attack reconstruction programme, which he said violated the recommendation made by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, when he launched the reconstruction plan for Cabo Delgado last year in the city of Pemba.
