The Swiss government will disburse more than 600 million Meticals for the implementation of the third phase of the Transparent Governance for Water, Sanitation and Health Program, in the next 4 years, in Niassa.
The amount will be used for the construction of water and sanitation infrastructures and promotion of Education in the districts of Chimbonila, Lago, Sanga, Lichinga, Mandimba, Metarica and Mecanhelas.
In view of the challenges observed in phases 1 and 2 of the project, the senior officer of the Swiss Embassy in Mozambique, Fernando Pililão, appealed to the government to comply with the prescriptions of the bilateral agreement, so as not to incur the risk of loss of funding.
“We noticed the use of vehicles for purposes that are not intended and we think that this should be corrected, for example, we also see that some activities that must go through a visa of the Administrative Court is not being fulfilled this requirement and are norms of the state itself, we do not bring norms of the Swiss Embassy, we follow standards. What we have to do is strengthen our level of risk assessment,” he said.
