The government will soon launch the public tender to hire the contractors who will carry out the rehabilitation work on National Road number 01, on the Inchope-Caia and Metoro-Pemba sections, starting next May.
The consultant hired by the government is currently drawing up the conceptual project for the tender.
The guarantee was given by the Minister for Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Carlos Mesquita.
Carlos Mesquita also announced that work is underway to widen the Benfica-Zimpeto stretch of road in Maputo city, which is to have four lanes, two in each direction.
At the moment, the Public Works sector is carrying out studies to improve the Mueda-Awasse-Macomia stretch in Cabo Delgado, which could be linked to the Roma-Negomano road, inaugurated last year by President Filipe Nyusi.
This information was provided this Friday in Maputo by the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, on the sidelines of the launch of the book: Water Co-operation in the Southern Region, in the Context of the Climate Emergency, by Agostinho Vilanculos.
