The government is looking for funding to resume construction work on three bridges on Regional Road 380, on the Macomia/Awasse stretch in Cabo Delgado.
These are bridges over two tributaries of the Messalo River and over the Mapwedi River, in the districts of Macomia and Muidumbe, respectively.
The Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Carlos Mesquita, who visited the R380 this week, mentioned the need for 15 million dollars to complete the work, which was abandoned more than three years ago due to the terrorist attacks.
According to Rádio Moçambique, the government official noted that the Regional Road 380 needs work, judging by the damage to some of its sections, as it is of vital socio-economic importance, as it connects the northern, central and southern regions of Cabo Delgado.
