The company Águas da Região Metropolitana de Maputo (AdRMM) announced this Tuesday, June 3, that there will be restrictions on the supply of drinking water on Wednesday, June 4, in several neighborhoods of Maputo city, due to preventive maintenance work.
According to a statement from the company, the restrictions are due to the cleaning and disinfection of the DN700 water main, located in the Missão Roque area, in the George Dimitrov neighborhood, as well as intervention at Reservoir 1 of the Laulane distribution center.
The neighborhoods that may experience interruptions or reduced water supply during the maintenance work include:
- Laulane
- Polana Caniço “A” and “B”
- Maxaquene “D”
- Hulene “A” and “B”
- Mavalane
- FPLM
- Mahotas
- Costa do Sol
- Mapulene
- Pescadores
AdRMM appeals for the understanding of affected residents and recommends taking preventive measures, such as storing water in advance, to minimize the impact during the restriction period.
The company emphasized that the work is part of a regular maintenance program aimed at ensuring the quality of the water distributed and improving the efficiency of the supply system.
These procedures are considered essential to safeguard public health and prevent any potential contamination in the distribution network. The normal supply is expected to resume progressively after the completion of the work, although the exact duration was not specified.
AdRMM also assured that technical teams will be on the ground to monitor the entire process and minimize the downtime as much as possible.
