The Mozambican Federation of Road Transport Associations (FEMATRO) has assured that there is no exclusion in the payment of compensation intended for urban transport operators in the metropolitan area and provincial capitals covered by the scheme.
The Mozambican Federation of Road Transport Associations (FEMATRO) has assured that all duly licensed transport operators with regularised documentation will receive the compensation allocated by the Government, while acknowledging that payments are being made gradually.
According to a statement consulted by DE, the federation stated that the process covers all eligible operators and that the Government continues to carry out the disbursements. In its assessment, this progress should address the complaints raised by transport operators in recent days.
The organisation added that it does not yet have updated data on the number of operators and vehicles that have already received compensation, as the process is still ongoing. These figures are expected to be disclosed by the Government once the payment updates have been completed.
Regarding operators who have not yet received the amounts, FEMATRO explained that it continues to receive lists of eligible beneficiaries, which are then consolidated and forwarded to the Metropolitan Transport Agency for processing.
The federation further assured that all lists in its possession were sent to the Metropolitan Transport Agency on Monday (27), and that there are currently no pending cases under its responsibility. According to the organisation, the delays observed may be due to the late submission of the required documentation by some transport operators.
