The construction works of a small port, in the Chongoene beach, in Gaza, that will ensure the flow of the mining production resulting from the exploration of heavy sands of Chibuto, will start soon.
The deputy director of the Chinese company that operates the Chibuto heavy sands said that in a first phase, the port to be built would have capacity to dock ships of up to 5,000 tons of cargo.
With a view to carrying out the initiative, in the next few days the Mozambican government is expected to grant a license to start construction of the port of Chongoene.
The source noted that in this project there was an anchor plan that in the medium or long term would build around 2 kilometres of ramp in the sea, with a view to making it easier for ships with a large draught to dock to transport larger volumes of ores.
