The deputy minister of Industry and Trade, Ludovina Bernardo, encourages food processing industries in the country to maximize production, by obtaining raw materials from peasants, to reduce imports.
Ludovina Bernardo is in Nampula since Wednesday, as part of the monitoring and evaluation of the course of the National Campaign for Agricultural Commercialization, underway in the country.
Speaking after visiting a poultry industry in Rapale district and the Food Processing Plants in the capital city, Ludovina Bernardo said it is necessary that the industries opt for the use of raw material resulting from the local farmers’ production, in order to balance the country’s trade balance.
According to the leader, the operational plan of the agricultural commercialization in the country shows that besides the increase in production, it is running smoothly.
The country expects to commercialize in the 2020/2021 Campaign, 16.2 million tons of various products, corresponding to a nine percent growth in terms of production.
