Government and Italy Sign €20 Million Credit Agreement for Employment Project

The Government signed, during the third quarter of 2025, a new credit agreement with the Republic of Italy worth €20 million, intended to finance the IN4Job Project, an initiative to promote employment in the country, according to information from Lusa.

According to the Quarterly Bulletin on Public Debt published by the Ministry of Finance, the agreement was formalised in September and provides for a maturity period of 32 years, with a 22-year grace period and an interest rate of 0%, characterising it as financing on highly concessional terms.

This is the only bilateral credit agreement signed during the period under review, with no sovereign guarantees granted and no on-lending agreements concluded in favour of public enterprises.

The signing of this financing takes place in a context of fiscal restraint, in which the Government has prioritised the mobilisation of external resources on favourable terms, given liquidity constraints in the domestic market and the restrictions imposed by the international financial environment.

The IN4Job Project is part of ongoing efforts to revitalise the labour market by strengthening professional skills and creating sustainable employment opportunities, particularly for young people and vulnerable groups.

Operational details of the project, as well as the sectors covered, are expected to be disclosed by the implementing entities in subsequent phases of implementation.
