The company Nacala Logistics announced on June 30, the resumption of general cargo rail transport between Blantyre, the economic capital of Malawi, and the port of Nacala in Mozambique.

The storms of the first quarter caused “the collapse of the railway bridge of Mauzi, in the section between Nkaya and Limbe, in Malawi.
With the reopening of the section, Nacala Logistics hopes to resume the 45 thousand tons per month transported between the Port of Nacala and Malawi, in both directions.
The line includes a container cargo monitoring system through which it is possible to remotely follow the course of the transport operations.
The transport of goods appeared as an additional service for the thousand kilometer line built with the purpose of draining part of the coal production from Tete, in the interior of the country. Grains, fertilizers, clinker, and fuels are among the goods transported.
