The Ministry of Economy, through the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEX), launched on Monday, August 18, in Maputo, the 60th edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM), which will take place from August 25 to 30 in Ricatla, under the theme “Promoting Economic Diversification Towards Sustainable and Competitive Development of Mozambique.”
One of this year’s highlights is the “Exporter Pavilion,” an initiative of ExportaMoz and the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), in partnership with APIEX and Evolution, designed to boost exports and position the country as a competitive player in international trade.
According to the CTA, the Exporter Pavilion “offers an interactive and results-oriented space where national companies can showcase their products, establish direct contacts with international buyers, and explore new markets.” The program will feature B2B (business-to-business) meetings, specialized workshops on certification, market access, financing, logistics, and innovation, as well as the provision of studies and strategic data on the export potential of provinces and value chains.
The initiative, according to CTA, represents a concrete opportunity to expand trade frontiers, strengthen the export base, and establish Mozambique as a reliable and innovative destination. In parallel, strategic buyers are being mobilized for sectors such as agro-industry, fortified foods, processed natural products, and light manufacturing.
For this 60th edition of FACIM, 2,350 national exhibitors are expected to participate, up from 2,300 last year, along with 800 foreign exhibitors from 30 countries, compared to 750 in 2024. The organizers also expect to welcome 70,000 visitors, surpassing the 65,000 recorded in the previous edition.
