Ideialab — a Mozambican organisation dedicated to supporting entrepreneurship and innovation — has been named one of five finalists in the Accelerator of the Year category at the Africa Startup Ecosystem Builders Awards (ASEB) 2026, selected from a pool of 1,786 nominations.
The award recognises accelerators that have developed structured programmes to help active startups grow, raise capital, and gain market share, with selection based on the concrete results achieved by the companies they support.
According to the awards organisers, the category prioritises measurable outcomes — including revenue growth, access to financing, market entry, and business survival rates — over the promotion of the acceleration programmes themselves.
Ideialab was selected as a finalist in recognition of its work managing acceleration programmes designed to support startups through a structured pathway of growth and business consolidation.
The winner will be determined by a combination of public voting and assessment by the ASEB jury. Voters are required to use a verified email address, with one vote permitted per category.
Winners will be announced in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the Africa Startup Ecosystem Builders Summit and Awards, scheduled to take place from 20 to 22 October.
