ISQ has signed a partnership with Instituto Camões for the implementation of the action “More Employment for the youth of Cabo Delgado”, which will run until the end of 2022.
The objective is to increase the economic opportunities of the population of Cabo Delgado, in particular its youth population, contributing to the improvement of access to work in activities related to the natural gas industry.
Pedro Matias, president of ISQ, said “the partnership with Instituto Camões in this sector of activity and in that region of the world was natural for us, and we are very honored to be able to contribute to a better future for the youth of Cabo Delgado in terms of their employability”.
ISQ will provide support in terms of technical assistance, training and institutional capacity building to Mozambican training entities. It will support micro, small and medium Mozambican companies through the “certify to compete” platform, as well as the “Mozambican SME certification” consultancy, both in terms of technical capacity building and implementation of key qualifications, defining the respective programmatic content.
The initiative aims to impact business owners in the natural gas industry value chain with operations in Cabo Delgado, technical teams, teachers, trainers, training and employment technicians, professional mentors, and hundreds of young Mozambicans may benefit from it.
The “More Employment” initiative is the result of a partnership between the European Union and Camões, I.P. and represents a European commitment to the development and stability of Cabo Delgado province, taking into account the worsening security and humanitarian situation in that region.
