The client manager of Standard Bank, Lemos Mário, recently considered that entrepreneurs should put the registration of their business ideas at the top of their priorities, in order to transform them into companies, because only then will they be prepared to take advantage of the opportunities that the market offers.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the 23rd edition of the virtual programme to stimulate entrepreneurship “Ideate”, promoted in partnership with ideiaLab, he explained that the lack of registration of business ideas is one of the “mistakes” that have been made by entrepreneurs
“The first step towards the materialisation of a business idea is to register it. In other words, turn it into a company, with all the necessary documentation (licences, permits, among others). There is the need to open a bank account, which is one of the main pillars for the development of the business”, he explained.
Lemos Mário also added that “a bank account is not only for companies that have or move a lot of money. We have noticed that many micro, small and medium-sized companies only go to a bank when they have a cheque to cash. As entrepreneurs, we cannot look at it from this angle. Every amount that is for initial investment should be deposited in an account.”
“More than facilitating cash management, the bank account allows for comprehensive control of the business,” he concluded.
Ideate is an initiative that aims to stimulate entrepreneurship, but also to foster and encourage the development of innovative businesses in the country.
