A total of 350 candidates were selected for the stage of training in transforming ideas into business, materialised through the acquisition of skills in human resources management, financial management, taxation and management of production processes.
These are part of the “Agora Emprega” initiative, one of the components of the “Emprega” programme whose objective is to promote employment in Mozambique, aimed at young people who have a business idea or a project in a startup, micro, small or medium existing company, and who need support and guidance to make it a reality.
According to the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Oswaldo Petersburg, the selection of these candidates marks another step of the “Emprega” programme, as it will allow young people to acquire the necessary knowledge to, in the future, create their own business and employ more young people.
Petersburgo revealed that, after the training, each youth will benefit from a funding equivalent to one and a half million meticais, to boost their work, stressing that, for that, the business plan should be developed in detail.
The candidates selected for this pilot phase are from the City and Province of Maputo, and it is expected that, until next November, the programme will be implemented on a national scale.
Emprega” is a Mozambican Government programme implemented by the Secretariat of State for Youth and Employment (SEJE) through the National Youth Institute.
