Launched in September 2019 by the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), the National Program for Certification of Companies (PRONACER) has already certified, in this pilot phase, four companies out of the 100 trained.
The data were presented last Wednesday, December 14, by CTA, during the end-of-year briefing.
According to the organization, of the 100 companies trained under the program’s implementation, only 25 have been pre-qualified, and of these, four have already received their certificates, while 16 are still in the process of certification.
“The enrollment process under the National Business Certification Program began on December 6, 2019, in which 155 companies were enrolled nationwide. Of this total, 63% are small, 19% micro and 18% are medium,” detailed Agostinho Vuma, president of the CTA.
According to the leader, ISO 9001 certification (quality management system) is the one that has had the largest adhesion, with 43%, followed by ISO 45001 certification (occupational health and safety), which represents 17% and, finally, ISO 14001 (environmental management system), with 16%.
PRONACER is a project implemented by CTA that aims to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), to ensure their effective and sustainable participation in the supply chain of products, goods and services in large projects.
Its goal is to train and certify 1000 companies over a five-year period, making them eligible in the procurement processes of the oil & gas industry.
