Beira Port: CFM Invests 7B Meticals in Oil Terminal

More than seven billion meticals will be invested next year in the rehabilitation and construction of the second oil terminal at the port of Beira, in Sofala, reports Rádio Moçambique.

This is an investment by the company Caminhos-de-Ferro de Moçambique (CFM) to increase cargo handling capacity.

The chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, Agostinho Langa, said that the work will essentially consist of extending the dredging, explaining that a process is underway to select a contractor specialising in the construction of port infrastructures.

For her part, the Secretary of State in Sofala province, Celina Chamutota, encouraged CFM to continue with investments to improve efficiency in cargo handling.
