The company Águas da Região Metropolitana de Maputo (AdRMM) issued a statement this Monday, February 13, to inform that the supply of drinking water to the cities of Maputo, Matola and Boane village started to be re-established, gradually, since Sunday evening (12).
“Once the technical conditions were created on site and as a result of reduced rainfall and water discharges, AdRMM resumed its services under restrictions,” the statement said.
As previously announced, AdRMM was forced to suspend the water supply service following the worsening of the hydrological situation, which led to an increase in water discharges into the Umbelúzi river, the main source of water collection at the Umbelúzi Treatment Plant (ETA-U), and the fall of electricity pylons that feed the plant.
AdRMM appreciates the understanding expressed by its customers for the inconvenience resulting from this natural disaster and recommends compliance with the already announced alternative water supply plan.
