Mozambique will be one of the eight countries invited to the 3rd edition of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Exhibition, to be held in central China at the end of June, according to the official Chinese newspaper People’s Daily, cited by Lusa.
At a meeting of the exhibition’s organising committee it was decided that the other guests of honour will be Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Malawi, Morocco, Nigeria and Zambia.
According to the newspaper, three international organisations and 257 businesspeople from 45 African countries have already registered for the exhibition, which will run from 19 June to 2 July.
The event, which is held every two years in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, will have six pavilions and an open-air exhibition area, with a total area of around 100,000 square metres.
The initiative is a joint organisation of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the authorities of Hunan province, where the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Innovation Demonstration Park is also located.
