CCM and Alibaba Join Forces to Boost Mozambican Exports

The Mozambique Chamber of Commerce (CCM) and digital shopping platform Alibaba.com this week signed a memorandum of understanding with a view to improving the flow of exports of Mozambican products.

Speaking on the sidelines of the signing of the document, the president of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce, Álvaro Massingue, said that the agreement aimed to put Mozambican products in contact with potential buyers across the world.

“We want, in this way, to put Mozambique on the world map, putting our producers in contact with world buyers, in a way that increases our level of exports,” said Álvaro Massingue.

He said that the website would showcase national products on its platform, which would give greater development to the export process and leverage the economy, thus helping small producers that cannot show their products outside the country.

Alibaba.com is a group of companies whose business is based on internet e-commerce and includes business-to-business sites and online payments.
