According to a PageGroup study published in Forbes, two out of three leaders are streamlining decision-making processes.
The data also shows that, due to the crisis, there are four common leadership profiles in companies.
The Sceptical Leader
Most leaders who are part of this group belong to areas that were heavily impacted by the pandemic. The concerns are related to the maintenance of suppliers and the reduction of sales of national productions and services. They believe that a full economic recovery will only be possible in 2023. They believe in the efficiency of remote meetings to align the paths of the various sectors of the company, but they usually make decisions alone, seeking practicality and agility of the process.
The people-oriented leader
These executives are focused on the management of the employees, being concerned with everyone’s safety and productivity. They value interpersonal skills or soft skills. They tend to promote integration moments and happy hours. With the pandemic, they are more attentive to the team’s well-being.
The self-centred leader
They are mostly part of small and medium-sized companies. Before the pandemic, these leaders were already used to making more centralised decisions. Due to the overload of work, the tendency was to decrease even more the flexibility of decisions, a position considered normal for them due to the troubled moment we are living.
The confident leader
Despite the crisis, this group obtained good returns in the last year. They maintained their partnerships and observed growth potential. In 2021, these leaders believe they will have higher turnover and do more hiring. They value agility and make decisions in a more decentralised way, being receptive to new ideas.
